Candle in the Wind
I'm nine chapters and 15,500 words into this new novel. Omar has been released from a ten year prison term and is about to cause nothing but trouble in the lives of those he once claimed to love.
Chance is a professional athlete who can't seem to keep his nose clean.
Patrick is overwhelmed cleaning up the mess Chance, his younger brother, always finds himself in, while trying to keep his own secrets from destroying his relationships with the people he cares for deeply. But, for Patrick, it may already be too late.
Taylor's indiscretions seem to follow her everywhere she goes. She has found herself in yet another precarious situation with Dillon, her sister's husband. Just how will her situation play out? Candle in the Wind is shaping up to be another must read, and I'm having such an awesome time writing this third novel. Coming early 2012.
Stay tuned for more updates. Thank you to everyone who continues to support African American Literature.

It's grey and dark outside, and it's been threatening to rain since about 12:.30pm. I think I just saw a raindrop.
Earlier this week I had two promotional contest on facebook, offering a free, autographed copy of 'Til It Happens To You to the 10th, 15th, and 21st new nembers to my website. A big congratulations goes out to new members D'Gerard Turner and Reginald Cochran. I will be running another contest soon. I will make sure this is posted on the website as well as on facebook. So, please tell your friends and family members to join when you see the post.
As I have mentioned in previous posts, I have been busy writing the third novel Candle in the Wind. Well, last night I decided to write on location. As a result, I spent 2 hours at 901 Restaurant on the corner of 9th and I streets in NW DC, eating salmon and spinach mash potato, drinking wine, and writing. My waiter even gave me a tour of the restaurant afterwards (I had to shut down the computer because i had forgot to charge up, and the battery was on empty). If you are ever in the DC area, be sure to check out 901. The restaurant opened a few months ago.
I also went to The Melrose Hotel on Pennsylvania ave to do another on-location writing. I mostly took pictures and bothered the concierge with my questions (he wasn't really bothered). I wanted to go beyond using the internet to do research, and actually use my visits to these two establishments to give accurate descriptions of everything I saw. You will have to read Candle in the Wind when it is released in 2012 so see what happens.
I wish you all a blessed evening. Writers keep writing. Readers keep promoting. Thank you all for your support.

Hey guys. Sorry it has taken so long.
First, I want to thank you for taking advantage of the Labor Day sale. Many readers were able to purchase 'Til It Happens To You for only $10. To those of you who did not have the opportunity to purchase the novel at this discounted price, you will have that opportunity soon. Thank you for continuing to support this great story.
New story...I have been busy writing a new novel, tentatively titled Candle In The Wind. In my first novel, Less Than Perfect Circumstance, you were introduced to Patrick (also in 'Til It Happens To You), and the shenanigans between DaMarcus, Belinda, and Taylor. Well, they are all back. Many were anticipating their return in the sequel, especially Belinda and DaMarcus. Unfortunately, they weren't ready to divulge all that has happened, and all that is going on with them now. In this early stage of writing, I'm really having a great time with this story. Patrick is revealing some things for which I wasn't quite ready, but it's not like i can control the man. Plus, he thinks there are some thing you definitely need to know about him. I won't give too much away, but you will be pleased with the end result. I dont yet have a release date for this next adventure, but I am sure to keep you posted.
I hope you enjoyed your Labor Day weekend. As you get ready for the work week, I hope it's a productive one. Whatever you do, do it well.. make it your best.
I appreciate you.

'Til It Happens To You, the anticipated sequel, is finally here for you to enjoy. You remember Dexter, Trevor, Belinda, DaMarcus, Jackson, and Patrick. I am sure you had your favorite. Find out which ones made it back for this page-turning story of love, lies, infidelity, and secrets. Maybe Patrick is up to his usual. Dexter and Trevor had you guessing what might happen after their chance meeting at Daily Grind. Were you right? Belinda and DaMarcus finally went their separate ways. Maybe their story made it back to the pages of 'Til It Happens To You.
Are you curious yet? Well, order copy of 'Til It Happens To You at online retailers amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com. Have a nook or a kindle you're dying to put to use? For only $3.99, you can download your copy and enjoy a good story.
Don't miss out!!!!

I wanted to provide you with some updates. The edits are back, and I am working hard to finish "Til It Happens To You". I'm having a great time making this story something that will grab you from the beginning, and leave you wanting more in the end. It's a lot of work, but I am enjoying every minute of it. I can't wait for you to read it. I hope you have May 21, 2011 circled on your calendar; It'll be here before you know it.
There has been a slight change in the title. Till has been changed to 'Til. Readers are more familiar with the latter as the abbreviation for the word "until". Change, I have learned, is a part of the process. You won't believe how many changes the writer and characters go through before you, the reader, sees the final product. The purpose of this is to give you our best; my best.
The new cover is coming soon. Make sure you check back to stay informed.
Remember, May 21, 2011 will be here sooner than you think. This page-turner will have you glued from the beginning to the end.
Don't forget to pick up your copy of Less Than Perfect Circumstance, the prequel to 'Til It Happens To You, today. It is available now at barnesandnoble.com, amazon.com, or you may order an autographed copy directly from my website.

It may seem far away now, but May will be here sooner than I think. I will continue to work my hardest to bring you a captivating sequel.
Remember, you are still able to purchase my debut novel, Less Than Perfect Circumstance, from barnesandnoble.com, amazon.com, or get an autographed copy directly from me.

My friend Juan is starting the "True for Two" campaign that will challenge our DMV friends to, besides themselves, find TWO other persons to purchase my novel, "Less Than Perfect Circumstance". Kraig is pushing the novel in ATL. He's three chapters from finishing his read, and promised to finish before hitting the sheets tonight. He says he's really enjoying it. Thanks fellas. I really appreciate it.
If you are in the DMV, don't forget my book signing to promote Less Than Perfect Circumstance on Saturday, February 19, 2011, 2pm - 5 pm, at Borders Books in Capital Centre, Largo. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you. Thank you in advance for trusting my writing ability, and for allowing me to introduce you to these great characters.
Don't forget, the sequel, 'Til It Happens To You, is scheduled for release on May 21, 2011. I am very excited about this story.
